Q2 2024 Issue

Fund II First Close: Primetime Partners Fund II fundraise kicked off earlier this year with very strong momentum. We are pleased to report that we held our first close earlier this month on $42M. We welcome new strategic corporate partners and family offices as Limited Partners who join our existing Fund I LPs on the continuation of our mission – redefining how we age and improving the quality of life for older adults. In Fund II we will partner with market-defining Founders early in their journey (Seed through Series A+) who are focused on the following six themes:
Keep Older Adults Well | Increase Care Capacity | Improve Health Access & Engagement |
Modernize Care in the Home | Prepare for Financial Longevity | Bring More Joy into the Experience of Aging |
We will continue fundraising on a rolling basis towards our target of $60M (slightly larger than Fund I) and will hold a final close later this year.
First Fund II Investment: Thrive Health Tech Series A
Thrive Health Tech is building the world’s first healthcare-focused mobile company, using HIPAA compliant mobile devices as its platform to address the digital divide and improve healthcare outcomes through sustained engagement with low-income, Medicaid, and Medicare beneficiaries.
Thrive Health Tech is a strong example of Primetime’s commitment to invest in healthcare engagement solutions for low-income Older Americans, a population that is 13M today and growing at an estimated 6% per year. CEO John Anderson is a former Director of Product Development at Motorola and ex-Head Of Ventures at Asurion. We are excited by his deep understanding of consumer needs in mobile technology; John is complemented by Head of Finance and Strategy Michael Le - previously at Dorilton Capital where he specialized in healthcare. Nashville-based Thrive Health Tech was incubated by Frist Cressey Ventures, with Former Senator Bill Frist, M.D. on its board of seasoned experts. Primetime participated alongside CVS Health Ventures and Frist Cressey Ventures, lead investors of the round. We look forward to supporting Thrive Health Tech in its next chapters.

Closing Thoughts:
Current events and the headlines are keeping many of us on edge, and definitely slowing enterprise sales cycles. Across our portfolio we see how Founders have adapted product, diversified sales channels and made meaningful progress towards profitability to drive business performance. On average our Founders are sincerely optimistic about how 2024 will wrap and their positioning for 2025. In fact, the NFIB Small Business Optimism Index rose to 91.5 in June 2024, the highest level of 2024 so far (yet still below the series historical average of 97.9).
Funding also continues to rise. In the first half of 2024, $5.7B was deployed across 266 digital health startups - signaling a strong outlook for 2024 to top 2023 (reported by Rock Health). And our deal flow is also up 12% year over year. As we drive towards an active H2 2024, we look forward to ushering in the next phase of the Primetime platform with Fund II and new partnerships with entrepreneurs, investors, and the growing population of longevity pioneers.
To Good Health,
Abby, Alan, Ray, Zoe, James, Courtney, and Diana
